'Crying in the Wilderness'

Acrylic on canvas, 60x 84, 2010

Drawn against the backdrop of terror unleashed all the world over, but particularly in India, especially West Bengal. The painting affirm the simple truth that the life philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi should be followed. Violence breads more violence. Only love and sympathy can overcome violence by winning hearts and thus bringing violence to a halt. But that icon is quoted visually in my painting. It is as if Gandhiji is collecting manifestos of peace from above a large red leaf which symbolizes terrorism.
